The nation's largest organization of midlife and older persons which is dedicated to shaping and enriching the experience of aging.
 
Administration On Aging
AOA is the Federal focal point and advocate agency for older persons and their concerns. Information about programs and services for seniors, including Eldercare Locator which provides help in locating services for elders in other states and a great online resource directory with names, addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers of organizations which provide information and other resources on matters relevant to the needs of older persons.
 
Aging and Adult Services Administration - Washington State
Provides information needed to access state funded or regulated services for the elderly in Washington State.  Offers links to local government services.
 
Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Referral
Sponsored by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).  Provides excellent information about Alzheimers Disease, information and ideas for family and professional caregivers, press releases about current Alzheimer’s Disease Publications, about Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders. Somewhat research oriented; information on clinical trials; large bibliographic database. Links to sites of other federal agencies with information about Alzheimer’s Disease.
 
Alzheimer Society of Washington
An excellent volunteer organization that provides education and support through an annual conference in October, a spring workshop, twice yearly 10-week support groups for those with early memory loss (call to register), and peer support groups for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Also provides an extensive lending library.

The Care Transitions Intervention by Eric A. Coleman, MD, MPH of the Care Transitions Program.  Proven effective in reducing hospital readmissions by 50%. 
 
Community Services for the Blind and Partially Sighted is the largest in home provider of vision rehabilitation services for older adults in the Puget Sound Region.

A wonderful set of evaluated and annotated health links produced by Oregon Health and Science University. A great starting place for researching medical issues of importance to Seniors.
 
Family Caregiver Alliance 
Founded in 1977, Family Caregiver Alliance was the first community-based nonprofit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care at home. FCA  now offers programs at national, state and local levels to support and sustain caregivers.

King County Seniors Online

National Aging Information Center (NAIC)
Operated by the U.S. Administration on Aging (AOA), is a central source for a wide variety of program- and policy-related materials and demographic and other statistical data on the health, economic, and social status of older Americans.
 
National Alliance for Caregiving
Specialized information on Alzheimer's disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, ALS and other disorders and long-term care concerns. Includes online support group, online caregiver consultation, area to post questions, fact sheets, reading lists, current news and research, online workshops and presentations, interviews and public policy.
 
National Senior Citizens Law Center              
Includes legal issues that affect the security and welfare of older persons of limited income.
 
NFCA: National Family Caregivers Association
Created to educate, support, empower and speak up for the millions of Americans who care for chronically ill, aged or disabled loved ones. Senior Services of Snohomish County
Senior Services of Snohomish County is a non-profit organization that provides social and health services to more than 20,000 elderly and disabled people annually in Snohomish County, Washington. Our mission is to "advocate for senior and disabled persons and to provide and operate programs and services that assist them in living productively and independently.
 
Senior Services of King County
Senior Information and Assistance of Seattle King County offers a free online database of community resources for older persons and their caregivers.

Senior Information and Assistance - Whatcom County
The expressed purpose of Senior I & A is to preserve the health, independence, and dignity of Whatcom County's elderly population. It provides a link between seniors and the services appropriate to their needs.  Professional caseworkers are available through phone calls, office visits, or home visits to discuss the many service agency options in Whatcom County.
