Today is one of our caregiver orientation days. This is when we welcome new AWESOME caregivers into our fold. ESther Cooper our Human Resource and Staffing Manager, engages them in discussions, coordinates conversations with a Geriatric Care Manager, Payroll , and our amazing staffing coordinators. Today is a particularly lively group. The first part of orientation at CareForce is spending a full day at our home office learning about safety (both personal as well as client) and getting oriented to the CareForce way. I love seeing the newbies having a lively discussion about boundaries and ethical issues. CareForce stimulates conversations by discussing case examples and dilemmas that can be encountered in the home setting. The caregivers often come to us because their fellow caregivers have sent them to work for us , I hear these comments “They say you are really great to work for” “we love having a RN available 24/7 and the fact that you reassess each client every 2 months” “We like the training and support you give our friends, so that is why we are here.” It’s not easy to be chosen as a caregiver at CareForce because of our strict screening, but once you are here, we embrace you as part of our team.
