Training - An Integral Part of the CareForce Mission
At CareForce we believe that the very best caregivers continuously
update their knowledge and skills through a commitment to lifetime
learning. CareForce offers a wide variety of specialized training
developed to improve caregiver and client knowledge, skills, and
effectiveness. We believe that current knowledge is so important that
we offer training to our employees as a part of their compensation
package. We also believe that our Mission also involves providing
affordable education and training to our customers, our colleagues, and
our community. CareForce classes and workshops are approved to meet the
credentialing and continuing education requirements of caregivers at
all levels from home care companions through Registered Nurses.
CareForce Affordable Community Education Series.
Since 2005, CareForce has organized and sponsored high quality
workshops for our customers, other family caregivers, professional
caregivers, colleagues, and our community at affordable prices. We see
this as part of the CareForce Mission "To improve the quality of care
for vulnerable people". With careful planning and collaboration with
others in the community, we are able to keep these events affordable to
all. This allows us to bring speakers who are widely recognized for
their special expertise and exceptional training skills to the
communities we serve. Consequently, vulnerable people will benefit from
better understanding and care from their families, friends,
professional caregivers, and others in our community who serve to
support them.
Customized and Mobile Training Our courses are
taught in our classroom conveniently located Lynnwood, Washington. We
are available to conduct training at your site in the Puget Sound area
for a negotiated fee. Our training faculty will also work with you to
develop continuing education offerings to meet the specialized
caregiver training needs for your facility.
Our Philosophy and Faculty The courses and
workshops offered by CareForce are taught by expert healthcare
professionals. CareForce training and continuing education classes are
developed to meet the changing needs of health care today, and are
delivered with careful attention to important principles of adult
learning. For example, we keep class sizes small to increase
participant and instructor interaction. We respect the knowledge that
every participant brings to share during the learning experience, and
we recognize that each person has their own learning style.
Our Director of Training is Susan "Sam" Miller, MN,
ARNP. Sam has been a member of the Nursing Faculty at Washington State
University and Montana State University. She also has extensive
experience in developing and providing adult education and training in
practice settings. Most importantly, Sam has extensive and recent
practice experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner with
prescriptive authority. She is an well recognized expert in the care
of mental illness and dementia.
